MAY 19  Well-being Walk on new nature reserve. From 9am-11am. Start the day with a refreshing walk enjoying the scenery and wildlife with some deep breathing & gentle stretching exercises - good for the body and the mind too! £6 or £4 for Yorkshire Wildlife Trust members.  All the events need to be booked, either online on the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Website, or by calling 01904 659570

MAY 25  Birdsong Bonanza Listening Walk. From 9 30am to 11 30am. Open your ears to the sound of the wetlands with our trainee Rowan, who will guide you around the reserve whilst pointing out the birds you can hear. This is a great opportunity to learn to identify different bird species by their songs. People of all bird watching abilities are welcome! £6 or £4 for Yorkshire Wildlife Trust members.  All the events need to be booked, either online on the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Website, or by calling 01904 659570.

MAY 27  Hog Roast Day  Our big fun and fund-raising day. Missing from the village flyer is that we will still be having the usual Table Top Sale - tables free this year, please contact Angie Archbold 677834 to reserve a table.


JUNE 2  Free Guided Walk. From 11am to 1pm.  Be one of the first people to come and explore our brand new  nature reserve. Our volunteer Sam will introduce you to this new place on a guided walk. We will tell you a little about the history, how the habitat has been reconstructed, and what wildlife we expect to find here. All the events need to be booked, either on line on the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Website, or by calling 01904 659570.

JUNE 6  Guided Tour of Markenfield Hall from 2 to 4pm.


This will be a comprehensive tour round Markenfield Hall with a specialist guiide who will also highlight any past links with Bishop Monkton.
