Programme for the Gardening Club

All about bees - on July 26.

With a membership of almost  50, the village’s Gardening Club has had a successful first year and is now looking forward to the next 12 months. The cost of membership remains at £10 a year, which includes several of the talks (on occasion an extra small fee may be charged to cover speaker expenses) and newsletters. 

In the words of one speaker after a meeting “I really enjoyed my visit to the gardening club and found everyone there so friendly.”

Thursday January 18th  Annual General Meeting. Do come along to share your views on the club’s first year, what you liked (perhaps what you didn’t) and what you might like to see included in future programmes

Thursday February 22nd  Behind the Scenes as an RHS Judge. Martin Fish, Gardener and Radio/TV presenter.

Thursday April 19th  Glorious Spring Gardens. Sarah Hopps, plantswoman, writer and broadcaster.

Thursday June 28th  Afternoon Visit to Thornton Hall Gardens near Darlington.

Thursday July 26th  Bee-Keeping and Flowers for Bees. Judith Hart, Harrogate and Ripon Bee-Keepers' Association

Sunday August 12th  Garden Summer Social- 3pm. Renton Close, Bishop Monkton.

Thursday October 11th  Growing Fruit and Eating It. Hilary Dodson, Chairman of the Northern Fruit Group.

Thursday December 6th  Christmas Social. Venue to be arranged.

Saturday December 8th  Creating a Stunning Christmas Table Floral Centrepiece. Hands-on workshop with village florist, Cerys Gill, Village Hall 10am.

All meetings are held at the Methodist School at 7pm unless otherwise stated.
