HANDS

Continuing to
play an
important
caring role
in the
community

A truly hands-on job!

At a meeting in the Methodist Church Schoolroom 24 volunteers from the HANDS Group met to review the work which has already been done and how to take it forward in the future.

The Rev Jonathan Singh was introduced to the volunteers and thanks given to all those who help. Four new volunteers were welcomed and any one else who would like  to give of their time please ring Isobel on 677625.

The overwhelming view was that HANDS is a very valuable asset to the village community quietly helping those who request help particularly in times of emergency. Volunteers have taken villagers to hospital and other appointments in Ripon, Harrogate and Boroughbridge, collected prescriptions and shopping, helped with light bulbs and other practical matters in the home etc.

Looking to the future the co-ordinators for the 12 areas in the village will be coming round, in the next few weeks,  to remind everyone of the help offered and who to contact if needed.

HANDS is there to help YOU.

If you have any queries and cannot get in touch with your co-ordinator please ring Jen Barker (677200), Jean Procter (676366) or Isobel Wilson (677625).
